SecondDesk is operational customer communication infrastructure for service businesses. It exists to recover missed inbound calls and continue conversations that customers initiate. This policy describes what is not allowed on the platform.
Prohibited usage
You may not use SecondDesk for:
- Spam or unsolicited messaging to recipients who have not interacted with your business.

- Lead generation or lead resale — including messaging contacts that were purchased, scraped, or transferred from another business.
- Affiliate and referral campaigns on behalf of third-party brands.
- Political messaging, including campaign outreach, fundraising, get-out-the-vote, and advocacy.
- Deceptive or misleading messaging, including impersonation of other businesses, government, or carriers.
- Phishing, credential harvesting, or fraud.
- Illegal content, including content prohibited by carrier guidelines (so-called "SHAFT" content: sex, hate, alcohol, firearms, tobacco) where not lawfully permitted and properly consented.
- Abusive automated messaging, including high-volume re-sends, harassment, or pattern messaging intended to evade carrier filters.
- Purchased, rented, or scraped contact lists of any kind.
What SecondDesk is for
SecondDesk is for operational customer communication: missed-call follow-up, scheduling, intake continuation, and service status updates. Messages should be a direct response to, or continuation of, a customer-initiated interaction with your business.
Compliance expectations
- Honor STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, and QUIT immediately.
- Respond to HELP with the business name and support contact.
- Comply with the TCPA, CTIA messaging principles, and applicable carrier registration requirements (A2P, brand, campaign).
- Provide accurate business identity for carrier registration.
Enforcement
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy or that place the platform, recipients, or carrier relationships at risk. We cooperate with carriers and regulators on abuse investigations.
